Frequently Asked Questions
Assembly and Product Details
Do I need any tools to put these models together?
- Not at all! One of the objectives of Coaster Highlightz is to provide an intricate, yet easy-to-install product. Each Coaster Highlightz piece will come with a digital assembly guide PDF to assist with the assembly.
How difficult is it to put the models together?
- There are different tiers of offerings that help break down the difficulty. Most of the 'Premier' tier pieces are medium difficulty. Most pieces can be put together in 30 minutes or less. Each Coaster Highlightz piece will come with a digital assembly guide PDF to assist with the assembly.
Can the pieces be made functional?
- No. Coaster Highlightz takes a departure from the "toy" aspect of coaster models and focuses on creating beautiful static decor pieces. The elegant structures and unique track shapes are art in their own sense and Coaster Highlightz captures that in a more elegant 3-dimensional format!
Can I get a model in a different color?
- Yes! Several of our pieces already have several color offerings to represent a different ride that has the same element. Examples include:
-
- 'The Jetpack' coming in an Afterburn color scheme or a Montu Color Scheme
- 'The Gorgon' coming in original Medusa, new Medusa, Bizarro, or Scream color scheme
- 'The Ursa Major' coming in all black (track & supports) or Great Bear color scheme
- - If there is another piece that doesn’t offer a different color in the purchase options, we can still customize the color. Simply place the order and reach out to coasterhighlightz@gmail.com with your order detail and specify to color you want for the track, supports, and base. You may do only ONE color for each of those three sections (for example B&M dual color track is not supported).
Can I paint the models myself?
- Yes! If you wanted to add some extra detail (ie: B&M dual color track) you can hand paint or even spray paint the pieces. Sand the pieces down where you intend to paint for the best end result. 'The Treble Clef' is the only product that you can get the bottom of the track painted (for an additional fee). Anything else will need to be DIY.

Customization and Commissions
I have an idea for something I want that is not on the site. Do you do commissions?
- Yes! Most of the pieces in the catalogue actually started out as a singular customer commissioning it. You can fill out the contact form located in the CONTACT US page or send a DM to the Coaster Highlightz Instagram page (@coasterhighlightz) for inquiry. Custom commission slots are limited to a few per each season, so once a new season starts, reach out quickly to secure your slot!
What do I need to do to secure a commission slot?
- In order to secure a slot, first make sure slots are available. The CONTACT US page will display that information. If there are slots still available, fill out the contact form located in the CONTACT US page or DM to the Coaster Highlightz Instagram page (@coasterhighlightz) to receive a quote.
Please include the following in your query:
-
- Full name
- Shipping location
- Description of what you are trying to get commissioned
- Space constraints (where do you plan to put the piece and what are the dimensions of said area
- - Once the basic information is received, a few follow up questions may arise and then afterwards a quote will be provided factoring in the complexity and number of elements. To secure your slot, a non-refundable half down deposit is required. This will cover the initial engineering/design costs and time.
- - - The final payment will be due once the CAD model is complete. The final payment will cover everything else including the printing materials, labor, shipping, and handling.
How long do new custom commissions take to receive?
- Custom commissions typically take about a month from start of design to shipment. Commission orders are made in order based on securing a deposit. So if someone is 4th in the queue, 3 other orders will be worked on and made before starting the design of that fourth one. Because of this, slots for custom commissions are limited to a small amount during a given season (to reduce waits and to lessen the load on the CEO). We always appreciate your patience on these custom orders.

Product Offerings and Scale
Do you sell the STL files of your models?
- No, the STL files are not for sale. Our focus is on delivering a tangible luxury product for all enthusiasts regardless of access to printers and the like.
Do you offer full layouts?
- No. Coaster Highlightz focuses on the 'highlight' moment of a ride and offers it in a grand, yet practical footprint as a luxury decor piece. Most full layouts would not be practical decor pieces at the scale Coaster Highlightz pieces are made at (1:100). The time required, cost for all the material, and shipping costs would also make it impractical.
Can you make the pieces smaller?
- All pieces, unless otherwise specified, are designed at 1:100 scale and that cannot be adjusted. Extreme large coasters (gigas, stratas) may be designed at 1:200 scale to be practical. In such cases where a piece has to be designed smaller, some detail will be lost in the crossties and the track will take on a more solid box or triangular shape (depending on the original shape of the track). This is necessary because as you go smaller, the finer details will just break off.
-- Fun fact: The 'Long Live The King' piece was scaled down 1:200. You can view the detail level in the track for reference.
Where are the RMCs and GCIs?
- At this time, wood structures are not being offered by Coaster Highlightz. The aim is to deliver a consistent product each time. That would be a challenge with the dense and complex lattice structures found in wooden and hybrid rides. Additionally, ease of assembly for the average consumer has to be considered. But I hear the requests trust me! Stay tuned!

Shipping and Delivery
How long do catalogue items take to receive once purchased?
- Each piece in the catalogue can be 3D printed as soon as an order is placed. Depending on the current volume and the founder's real job/life scheduling, a piece can arrive as early as 2 weeks after purchase. With current volumes, expect 3-4 weeks after placing the order. Again, this is for items that are already designed and a part of the catalogue.
-- Each piece is 3D printed, assembled for test fitting and quality assurance, disassembled, packaged, and then shipped to the customer.

Additional Questions
Do you make trains for your pieces?
- No. Not at the moment at least. The focus of Coaster Highlightz is on recreating the 'highlight' moment of a ride's layout so we use our time to provide new and exiting track elements. Maybe some day train upgrades could be sold on the side.
Why are the models so expensive?
- These models are designed and crafted to be a luxury product acting as a central décor piece for the seasoned enthusiast. While they compliment existing park merch offerings nicely, make no mistake: these pieces will be the 'highlight' item in your space.
We believe that the investment in a Coaster Highlightz piece is not just another obligatory trinket purchase, but an acquisition of a piece of art that brings joy and conversation to any space it occupies!
That said, we do have a beginner tier for smaller, more budget friendly offerings that we plan to continue adding to. As always more to come!
